Bowness Stud & Watershed Farm is seeking a dedicated and passionate Foaling Attendant to join our team for the upcoming foaling season (start 27th July 2026 through to the end of November 2026). Ongoing employment may be provided beyond November 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast paced and dynamic thoroughbred breeding operation, where you will extend your experience and develop a broad range of equine skills while assisting in the safe arrival of the next generation of racehorses.
Role Responsibilities:
Monitor foaling alarms and oversee pregnant mares on a nightly basis.
Provide immediate post foaling care, including necessary treatments for the mare and neonatal care for the foal.
Maintain accurate records of foalings, treatments, and any health observations.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in foaling and neonatal care preferred. (It is essential to have extensive horse handling experience).
A strong sense of responsibility, patience, and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as foaling is unpredictable.
A team player with a genuine passion for horse care and welfare.
