Wrangler Counselors play an important role combining horsemanship instruction, trail riding leadership, and traditional cabin counselor responsibilities to create life-changing summer experiences for campers. This is a hands-on, relationship-driven position where you help campers grow in confidence, responsibility, and independence both in and out of the saddle.
Wrangler Cabin Counselors live in a cabin with approximately 10 wrangler campers and serve as both equestrian program staff and primary caregivers. Counselors lead horseback programming throughout the day and help guide campers through all aspects of camp life.
Under the direction of the Senior Program Director and guidance from program leadership, Wrangler Cabin Counselors supervise campers, deliver horseback programming, and actively contribute to camp culture and community.

YMCA Camp Carson is a summer residential camp located in Princeton, IN. We offer week long sessions for around 160 campers during the months of June and July. We have two horse specialty programs for our campers. The first is our Horseback Riding Program which allows campers to learn to ride a horse and then take trail rides. The second program is our Wrangler Program, "Horse Camp," provides campers an introduction to the responsibilities and joys of horses with lots of riding time and hands-on experience. We have 15 horses at our facility along with a barn, arena, and two pastures. Camp Carson offers campers an experience that lasts a lifetime and an environment where they are accepted, challenged, and empowered. We are seeking applicants who are dedicated to working hard and having a positive influence in the lives of children. The work is tough, but the rewards are a blessing. You will see lives change!
