Duties of Current Occupation
Barn Specialist: supervised barn activities, ensured safe horse handling, and taught campers basic riding and horse care. Farm Worker: assisted with livestock care, feeding, health monitoring, barn maintenance, and farm operations.
Equine Work Experience
I have hands-on equine experience through my role as a Barn Specialist at Camp Tecumseh, where I supervised barn activities, ensured safe horse handling, and assisted campers in learning basic riding skills and proper horse care, including grooming, tacking, and barn safety procedures. I have also worked in structured barn environments that required attention to animal behavior, safety awareness, and clear communication when working with both horses and riders of varying experience levels. In addition, my involvement in the Equestrian team at Truman State University has continued to strengthen my horsemanship, teamwork, and understanding of responsible horse management in both training and recreational settings, in practices and shows.
Specialities
I've mostly worked with adult horses (mares and geldings), with also a few younger horses during my time at Camp Tecumseh.
Type of Ride Work
I'm a western rider.
Competition Details
I've competed in Stock shows on my university's equestrian team (Truman State University) for the past year.
