We are looking for a traveling competition groom for our team of Eventing horses. Successful applicant would be responsible for the care and presentation of our horses ranging from youngsters to 5* level eventers.
Suitable applicant needs to be hard working, organised and have a high level of turn out skills. Successful applicant will be responsible for the care and well being of our team of eventing horses and also all the saddlery and gear that they need to compete. Successful applicant will be responsible for packing and uppacking truck and making sure everything needed is packed and in good condition. At competitions applicant will need time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a competition environment, role requires applicant to prepare each horse for every phase. Position will include travel to major events around Australia and the possibility of international travel (hopefully including Olympic and World Championships).
There is the opportunity to bring your own horse to ride, train and compete. Non riding applicants are welcome.
Role will also include grooming/stablehand work with the thoroughbred racehorses in our care.
The position requires a hard working individual with a genuine love of horses and the desire to be an important part of a high performance team. This is lifestyle position not a 9 to 5 job, the hours can be long and weekend work is required. However, it is a unique position that has many benefits. Previous competition grooming experience preferred. Five and a half days per week. Onsite accommodation and horse agistment available. Overseas applicants welcome.
