Position: Equine Veterinary Assistant / Veterinarian Sport Horse Breeding & Reproductive Management Program A professional sport horse breeding operation is seeking an Equine Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinarian with a strong interest and/or proven experience in equine reproduction and young horse development. Key Responsibilities: • Reproductive Management • Monitoring and management of broodmare estrous cycles; • Assistance with natural cover and/or artificial insemination programs; • Pregnancy diagnosis support, gestational monitoring, and peripartum assistance; • Neonatal monitoring and early foal health management.

Herd Health & Clinical Support • Daily clinical observation of broodmares, foals, and youngstock; • Provision of equine first aid and emergency stabilization until veterinary intervention; • Assistance with routine veterinary procedures (vaccination, deworming, treatments, biosecurity protocols); • Maintenance of accurate health, reproduction, and treatment records. • Young Horse Management • Supervision of foal growth and development from birth through weaning; • Implementation of basic handling and groundwork programs leading up to breaking‑in/backing (desbaste); • Evaluation of conformation, development, and overall welfare. • Stable & Nutrition Management • Feeding management of broodmares, foals, and young horses in accordance with nutritional programs; • Daily care, handling, and welfare supervision; • Collaboration in optimizing stable hygiene and management procedures.

Candidate Profile: • Degree in Veterinary Medicine or formal qualification as a Veterinary Assistant with demonstrable equine experience; • Solid knowledge and/or hands‑on experience in equine reproduction and breeding operations (preferred); • Technical understanding of foal development, young horse management, and pre‑training handling; • Ability to assess clinical signs and respond appropriately in first‑aid and emergency situations; • Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and capacity for autonomous work; • High standards of animal welfare and professional ethics.
