Ten stall barn on a private estate seeking a full time barn assistant. This position involves executing the day-to-day work of cleaning, turning out, setting feed, haying, night checks, and other routine chores, under the supervision of the barn manager. There is opportunity for riding and/or lessons (including occasional off-site trail rides!), and room for growth.

We are seeking a dedicated horse person who values good care, kindness, cleanliness, and consistency, and who would enjoy learning more about equine management and care. We work with top vets, farriers, bodyworkers, and trainers with decades of experience. There are also opportunities for continued learning at our mustang sanctuary three hours away.

We are an English riding facility with a few horses who are also trained Western, so riders from both disciplines are welcome to apply.

This position pays hourly. Part time hours can begin immediately, with full time work starting July 1. Employer sponsor health benefits and PTO offered after a probationary period. On-site pet-friendly housing is available, but not required for local candidates. A stall for your horse can also be negotiated.

Requirements

Night check 3-4 days a week (15-30 minutes per night), and schedule flexibility for when the barn manager is out of town. We are a small, tight-knit crew who have been at the farm for many years, and we work together to make sure all shifts are covered, everyone has the time off they need, and nobody is overworked.
