Berryfield Dressage is seeking an experienced, and professional, individual to join our team at our private 10-stall dressage facility in Lincoln.
This is a hands-on position best suited for someone with, attention to detail, and a passion for horses and barn management. Riding opportunities may be available for the right candidate.
The trainer lives on site and oversees all the training. Seven horses go with FL for the winter.
Responsibilities Include • Daily feeding, grain preparation, and watering • Turnout and blanketing • Maintaining a clean, organized, & welcoming barn environment • Tack cleaning, tacking & untacking horses • Lunging, hand walking, & grazing • Wrapping and basic therapeutic support • Assisting veterinarians and farriers • Inventory management and organization of supplies • Administering medications (including IM/IV) and basic wound care • General barn chores and support as needed • Shared night checks
Schedule, Compensation & Benefits • 5.5 days a week • Compensation commensurate with experience • Weekly pay via direct deposit with appropriate withholdings • Housing provided, either a shared cottage with 3 bedrooms and three bathrooms or an apartment, both onsite. FL is shared housing. • Paid Time Off (PTO) • Paid holidays (Shared schedule for coverage)
Requirements
Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of experience working with dressage horses • Mature, professional, and team-oriented demeanor • Strong work ethic and attention to detail • Ability to communicate respectfully and work well with others • Ability to speak and read English • Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding barn work • CORI check required • Non-smoker • Ability to drive a trailer is a plus
Physical Requirements Lifting, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, walking on uneven terrain, and working in varying weather conditions. Exposure to dust, hay, animals, and common allergens is expected.
